The GLOCK 47 MOS was originally developed in 2019 for the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and has since been released for the commercial market. It inherits the renowned reliability and performance of the G17 Gen5 MOS while featuring a shortened dust cover for improved handling and maneuverability. Despite its modifications, the G47 MOS maintains compatibility with parts from other popular models such as the G17 Gen5 MOS, G19 Gen5 MOS, and G45 MOS, ensuring versatility for users across different platforms.

This pistol operates on the Safe Action® system, offering a standard magazine capacity of 17 rounds with optional capacities ranging from 17 to 33 rounds. It is chambered in 9x19mm and features a barrel length of 114 mm (4.49 inches). The weight varies depending on the presence of the magazine: 658 g (23.21 oz) without the magazine, 735 g (25.93 oz) with an empty magazine, and 972 g (34.29 oz) with a loaded magazine. The trigger pull is measured at 26 N.
