The Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical SPX takes the already-capable 940 platform and enhances it with tactical upgrades to meet the demands of today’s shooters. This autoloading shotgun is built around a clean-running gas-vent system that delivers fast, reliable cycling, even under high-volume shooting. Internally, corrosion-resistant components like a nickel boron-coated gas piston, mag tube, hammer, and sear ensure longevity and smooth operation in demanding environments.

The 940 Pro Tactical SPX is optic-ready with a direct mount RMSc footprint, and includes adapter plates for RMR, Docter, and Leupold-style optics. The drilled and tapped receiver supports additional customization, while integrated metal ghost ring sights with low-profile protective wings offer rapid target acquisition straight out of the box. When the sight plate is removed, users can mount optics directly for a low-profile, co-witness-ready setup.

The updated forend design includes an integrated heat shield, three M-Lok slots (at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock), and QD sling mount ports, combining durability and modularity with enhanced handling. A factory-installed Vang Comp 6-shotshell carrier system allows for fast reloads and ammo access, while the oversized bolt release, ergonomic safety, and elongated, pinch-free elevator make operation intuitive and fast under pressure.

Rounding out its versatility, the stock includes an adjustable length-of-pull system (12.5" to 14.25") and additional QD ports for sling setup.
